Scanpst.exe did not fix my outlook. How to repair scanpst.exe manually?
Outlook is the free e-mail client for the most of Windows version. It provides facility to browse your e-mail online as well as offline also. To fix PST issue, outlook provides scanpst.exe to repair the PST file but sometimes Scanpst.exe did not fix outlook. If scanpst.exe is not fixing errors then there is two way to fix it. The first method is repair scanpst.exe file manually then scans your PST file and another option is using of another third party tool. However, the second method is very useful but before using third party tool you must try the manual method to fix PST issue.
As Scanpst.exe is the helpful tool to fix PST problem sometimes it also encounters various issues and becomes unable to fix PST issue. In this situation it is needed to fix Scanpst issue. The best option is to fixing Scanpst.exe issue is re-installing the outlook. But it is not a complete solution because in the process of re-installing of outlook, the scanpst.exe tool doesn’t get re-installed. If scanpst.exe is not fixing errors then you need to re-install scanpst.exe tool. In order to fix scanpst.exe issue apply the following mechanism:
NOTE: Must keep a backup of Registry file before editing it.
- Open "Run" dialog box by pressing "Windows Key" + "R".
- Write the 'regedit.exe' command without single quotes. It will open registry editor.
- Now find the following key on the left side of your panel.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ActiveSetup\Installed Components\{89820200-ECBD-11cf-8B85-00AA005B4383}
- Then go to the right panel. Right click on "IsInstalled(REG_DWORD)" value and click "Modify".
- Now, change the value "0" in the dialog box and click "OK".
- Exit from Registry Entry.
- Open search windows by pressing "Windows key" + "F".
- Search the following file.
"MSOE50.inf"
- Now double click on "MSOE50.inf" and allow the re-installation or outlook to begin.
- Insert windows installation disk into the CD-ROM when the installation requires disk.
- Now reboot your computer and finalize the setup.
After performing all the process successfully, the Scanpst.exe will be re-installed. If scanpst.exe did not fix outlook then you need an effective third party tool. If you are facing trouble to fixing scanpst.exe manually and scanpst.exe is not fixing errors then you try PST Repair Tool. This tool is much effective then Scanpst.exe and does not raises any error.
